The Lepricon Artist - Comedy (Rated PG) Low budget set in Dublin, Ireland
Logline: Derry Molony is a struggling Irish comedian who replicates the most famous miniature statue in Ireland, with the hope of swapping it.
Synopsis: Derry Molony is in his late twenties, tall, lanky, with unkempt brown hair, a cute face and a foul mouth. After failing in a career as a sculptor he turns to comedy and although he is very funny, he is finding it tough to make ends meet.
He stops by the local Dublin art museum and sees the catalogue for the upcoming art auction show-piecing the infamous, 'Golden Savior,' the lucky charm of the most famous kind in Irish history.
Derry smiles to himself and goes home to start making a replica of the small, golden statue. He finishes his replica in time for the auction and goes along to watch the bidding. He follows the winner of the, 'Golden Savior,' a Mr and Mrs Sullivan, home.
Derry's comedy career starts to tumble with audiences left right and centre heckling him off stage. This pushes him further in to his quest to swap his replica for the original. On stalking the Sullivans, he hits their personal assistant, the lovely Miss Ivory Lamour's car.
Ivory recognizes Derry from his stand up comedy but isn't fooled by his boyish charm. Well, at first anyway. After a failed attempt to sell his replica on the black market, Derry is even more determined to get the original.
Ivory and Derry end up together but she leaves when she finds that he has made a replica and feels he was only with her to get in to the Sullivan house. Derry is heartbroken, but gets a lucky break. He ends up with the original and forgets his plan to sell it as it starts to bring his comedy career enormous luck.
He decides after all of that, to keep it. His fame brings him to the British Comedy Festival in London where he is delighted by Ivory one night, back stage. But do they get back together? Or is she just there to steal the original back?
