The Laughing Gypsy - Travel Memoir - Comedy (Rated PG - 13) Med budget
Logline: Tina traveled around the world and after many a plane trips over seven and a half years, overseas blunders and predicaments, still can't tell you where North is.
Synopsis: The ability to laugh at yourself doesn't just come in handy when you are traveling, it is a necessity. TINA never knew she would become a perpetual traveler when she left Australia in her mid twenties, nor that she would land herself in so many predicaments overseas.
In the seven and a half years that she traveled around the world, she was robbed in Italy, disguised herself as a man in Spain, nearly arrested in India, followed under suspicion of drug taking by a co-worker in France, had a head on collision with a car in Japan and was kicked out of England for suspected drug trafficking.
A Fashion Designer by trade, she did everything from cleaning toilets in France, to snowboard instructing in Canada, teaching English in Japan, getting paid to sunbathe in the Greek Islands and was nicknamed by many, 'The Gypsy.'
In the love department there was a love triangle, and affair, a penchant for kissing women, a few Scandinavian toy boys and lonely moments and heartbreak in between.
Tina learnt a new found respect for maps, to speak a few languages, juggle, play guitar, fire dance, and even sang in a band in Japan. She never knew where she would be in a month let alone two and at one stage was down to her last $10 with no job or back up plan.
After visiting 37 countries (not all in the movie but implied), and hundreds of plane trips she still can't tell you where North is. Laugh at her expense as you see how travel is the best education in The Laughing Gypsy.
