Death Patch - Suspense/ Thriller Low to Med budget set in California
Logline: If you swim through, touch or even fly over this small, moving patch of dark water off the coast of California, an hour later you collapse, an hour after that, you die.
Synopsis:
The fisherman call it the 'Death Patch.' It takes a lot of concentrated scientific research to find out that the deaths of whole submarine crews, flight passengers and crew, fisherman and more, died in the same way; from passing over or through this mysterious patch of dark water in the ocean.
We follow a team of leading Oceanographers, Research Scientists, Navy personnel and more through the dead ends of trying to find out how to track and destroy the patch without falling victim themselves.
The patch gets bigger and starts to approach the coast and more and more people die. The scientists design a robot that can swim out in the patch and dye it so that it can be tracked.
They get a sample of the patch and are shocked to find that it is made up of millions of tiny, intelligent black worms. The patch splits up and moves all over the Pacific, killing people around the world.
Scientists from all over the world have to work together to try and destroy the patches that are killing more and more people. The movie ends as just as the world thinks they have killed all the patches, a small one sneaks on land and soaks straight in to the sand.
